近日，在2026年上海两会上，上海市政协委员(上海市徐汇中学校长)曾宪一在谈到未来教育改革时表示，随着出生率低，孩子出生减少，学生人数下降，未来取消中高考是必然的。

　　译文: Recently, during the 2026 Shanghai Two Sessions, Zeng Xianyi, a member of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference ( the principal of Shanghai Xuhui Middle School) talked about future education reforms. he stated that with low birth rates, a decrease in the number of children birth and a decline in the number of students, it is inevitable to cancel the middle and high school entrance exams in the future.

　　他认为考试只是伪考试，几乎考的都是记忆性内容，也就是考的都是死记硬背的内容，根本解决不了生活中实际问题，所以要创新办学机制，选拔具有创新潜质和实践能力的人才，特长生，全面发展的人才。

　　译文: He believed that exams are just fake exams, all of which is almost memorization content ,in other words , which is rote learning that cannot solve practical problems in life. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate the educational mechanism, select talents with innovative potential and practical ability, special talents and all-round developed talents.

　　他强调，要选拔这些 具有创新潜能的 人才，可以通过科创能力答辩，实践能力测试，加综合素质评价的方式进行选拔。

　　译文: He stressed, emphasized that talents with innovative potential can be selected through scientific and technological innovation ability defense, practical ability test and comprehensive quality evaluation.

　　他认为接受高等教育的机会应该给予每一个人，而不只是给予考试厉害的人，所谓学习好的人。

　　译文: He believed that the opportunity to receive higher education should be given to everyone, not just those who excel in exams or study well.

　　同时，他还认为随着AI普及，需要更多科技人才，所以要减少学制，推行中小学一贯制办学。

　　At the same time, he also believed that with the popularization of AI, there is a need for more technology talents, so it is necessary to reduce the school system and promote the consistent operation of primary and secondary schools, middle and high schools.

　　并且他认为学太多外语没用，因为出国需求减少，但是要满足孩子的个性化需求，多倾听孩子心声。

　　译文: And he thought that learning too many foreign languages is useless because the demand for going abroad has decreased, but it is still necessary to meet the personalized needs of children and listen to their inner voices more.

　　我认为，他说到点子上了，确实今天的很多考试都是靠记性，死记硬背(填鸭式教育)，无论是背公式，还是背诗词，单词，都是为应付考试，所以很多考试厉害的学生都是记性好的人，但是这些学生实践能力欠缺，操作能力较差，特别是文科生，所以，他的提议非常好，高瞻远瞩，具有可实践性，我认为可以在一些发达地区先试行，然后再全国普及。

　　Therefore, many students who excel in exams have good memory, but both their practical ability and operational ability are poor, especially for liberal art students,so h is proposal is super good, visionary, and practical. I think it can be introduced on a trial basis in some developed regions first and then popularized nationwide.

　　但是，我想补充的一点是，无论出不出国，都不能不学外语，至少需要学习一门外语，至少需要掌握英语这个全球通用的官方语言。

　　译文: However, I would like to add that regardless of whether one goes abroad or not, one cannot ignore learning a foreign language. At least one must learn a foreign language and master English which is the globally recognized official language.
